The hero is Josip Stanisic. Entering the game seven minutes earlier, the Croatian equalized in the 97th minute of Leverkusen’s Europa League semi-final return against AS Roma (2-2), Thursday May 9. The player on loan from Bayern Munich had already equalized in added time against Dormtund, in the Bundesliga, on April 21. His new goal extends Bayer’s unbeaten run to forty-nine matches in all competitions. Winners 2-0 in the first leg, the Germans will play the final against Atalanta Bergamo on May 22 in Dublin.

Leandro Paredes shook Bayer

But they were not far from disillusionment. AS Roma led 2-0 after sixty-six minutes of play, thanks to two penalties scored by former Parisian Leandro Paredes. But an own goal from Gianluca Mancini, eight minutes from time, made the Italian feat impossible. The rest is almost supernatural, with a German team still capable of scoring late goals this season.
