Each title of the songs on the second album by French neoclassical composer and pianist Sofiane Pamart is one of the words of this sentence (in English): “Dear audience, your love saved me from loneliness forever; Sincerely, Sofiane — P.-S. : I wrote this album in Asia,” finding solace with fans, despite the pandemic. Recognition is mutual, Pamart’s work listening to each other like a caress. We will first note LETTER the precision of the playing of the virtuoso, a graduate of the Lille Conservatory, his admirable dexterity, particularly in the interpretations of PUBLICof ME, of SOFIANEof I (what a dramatic finale!) and THIS, a fine lace of notes and one of his best compositions. On the other hand, the romanticism of this admirer of Chopin is sometimes exacerbated, from DEAR opening, and YOUR and LOVE a little after. We prefer the more “modern”, more imaginative side of the composer, touching restraint in the second half of the album, in the counting of WROTEthe minimalism of PS and the pretty pattern of IN.
