Seeing the first live footage from Kyiv this morning, I couldn’t help but think of the occupation we’ve been through recently in Ottawa. I began to think of our famous “convoys for freedom”, of all those trucks honking in chorus, smeared with ” F… Trudeau, F… Legault… Canada is a dictatorship! Also, seeing all these Ukrainians piled up, fleeing with their small suitcase and their pet towards Poland or I don’t know where (them even less), I said to myself that luck, finally, had done things well.
That it would have been rather embarrassing to keep screaming Freedom! in the famous spa that sat enthroned in the middle of our besieged capital, carried by the dream (fortunately aborted) of dismissing our so-called “tyrannical” government. There are parallel universes that cannot be invented.
