3,2,1… go! Let’s plant our trees thanks to the advice of Emmanuel Grosbois, from the “A fleur d’eau” garden in Cherveux. It is the season because the last frosts have passed, so it is good to plant our fruit trees, ornamental trees, hedges or shrubs now. These trees do not support air bubbles, so do not put only soil there, here are several steps to avoid suffering or dying the tree:
– 1st third of your hole: Put praline (earth and water). It is also possible to put clay balls which will allow, after watering, to be loaded with water and to redistribute it quietly.
– 2nd third: Put only the earth that you extracted to create your hole.
– 3rd third: Add the potting soil (or compost). The potting soil must be on the surface. (Often, it’s the trap! We tend to put the soil at the bottom of our hole).
– Next, remove the tops of the tree (the roots) to allow it to anchor more easily.
There is more than maintaining, that is to say, watering at the foot. Do not hesitate to pack well to eliminate air bubbles.
