Let’s be realistic, it’s the failure of the Quebec model!

With the FAE general strike and the pressure tactics that will return in January from the Common Front as well as the FIQ if there are no agreements, we are currently experiencing a labor conflict in our sectors unprecedented audiences.

What we are currently seeing are the limits of the Quebec model. Clearly, we have hit a wall.

Day after day, we see that the situation on the ground is not improving. Christian Dubé’s press briefing on Tuesday is another good example. Basically, the network is no longer capable of treating us. So, treat yourself at home!

Results requirement

The latest Léger poll shows us that the majority of the population is behind the union members.

Clearly, the government has lost the war of public opinion. The questionable statements made by François Legault and his team have demolished the credibility of the CAQ in the eyes of citizens. Furthermore, Quebecers know that the government is a bad employer.

For their part, the unions must understand that the support of the population comes with an obligation to achieve results. One day, a new collective agreement will be signed. So, in a year’s time, teachers won’t be able to complain that it’s still hell.

However, you should not dream in colors. The problems on the ground are not going to go away.

Until the end

At the start of the year, François Legault told the members of his team that he was going to show courage and not look at the polls.

The CAQ is currently falling in the polls. Therefore, the government is also seeking to have the best possible agreement to make changes. This reality ensures that the conflict continues to the detriment of our young people.

Now, beyond the current conflict, we will all have to have the courage to change things, but looking at the past, hope is slim.
