“Let them stop being interested in girls”, Kelly Vedovelli takes down Frederic Beigbeder, accused of rape

Bad times for Frédéric Beigbeder. This Tuesday, December 12, the newspaper France Blue revealed that the 58-year-old writer was taken into police custody at the Pau police station (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The father of the family was in fact summoned around 9 a.m. to be heard as part of an investigation opened by the Pau public prosecutor’s office and carried out by the city police station.

Very quickly, we learned that the purpose of this placement in police custody would be linked to a complaint filed by a young woman, for acts of rape. The complainant denounces a sexual assault and explained “having had a first consensual sexual relationship with him then a second non-consensual one, during the same night”, spent in a hotel room…

The writer who hit the headlines in 2008, after being arrested by the police in the heart of Paris, under the influence of drugs and having on him two bags containing the equivalent of 2.6 grams of cocaine…

The same evening, the affair was mentioned on the set of “Do not touch My TV” by Cyril Hanouna and his columnists. Michel Mary then recalled that the young woman who filed the complaint is 17 years old and that she was in a relationship with the writer who is married with Swiss photographer Lara Micheli since 2014. Together, they are the happy parents of two children born in 2015 and 2017 respectively.

Furious upon discovering the context, Kelly Vedovelli then spoke: “We don’t have those relationships when we’re that age!”. And Michel Mary underlines: “You are not the judge of morality. He does what he wants”. The columnist then replied: “Yes, but we can still have a little common sense!” And to conclude: “The young girl is perhaps also very young to know what she really wants to do. 17 years old is very young! If they don’t want to get into trouble, they should stop being interested in kids!”.
