“Let our joy remain” by Kevin Lambert finalist for the Medici Prize

The novel May our joy remain by Quebec writer Kevin Lambert, is one of eight finalists for the prestigious French Medici literary prize, reports the specialized magazine Weekly Books.

The other finalists for this prize, which aims to reward a work whose author has not yet acquired the notoriety corresponding to his talent. will be delivered on November 9.

The other finalists for the prize in the French-speaking novel category are:

  • A way of loving by Dominique Barbéris;
  • Farewell Tangier by Salma El Moumni;
  • Eunice by Lisette Lombé;
  • Mothers Day by Richard Morgiève;
  • Sarah, Susanne and the writer by Eric Reinhardt;

  • The Old Fire by Elisa Shua Dusapin.

Kevin Lambert’s first book, You’ll love what you killedhad been a finalist for the Medici, while his second, Roberval Quarrelwas part of the first selection for the prize.

May our joy remainwhich takes place in the world of architecture, is an incursion into the world of the ultra-rich in which the author continues his reflection on capitalism.

The novel, published in Quebec by Héliotrope and in France by Nouvel Attila, was also selected in the first selection for the prestigious Goncourt Prize, but has since been rejected.

However, he is still in the race for 35e December prize and for the Goncourt of high school students.
