“Let me go with the encroachment!” | The duty

Well, the timeless debate, particularly among French-speaking political commentators, is back! Is Ottawa, with its right to spend, encroaching on provincial areas of jurisdiction? Should the French-speakers of La Belle Province be wary of the nasty “federalisse” interference?

I am personally of the opinion that, when Quebec announces an extremely deficit budget while in no way responding to the glaring needs of the population with regard to the creation of social programs, it seems to me that it is fair game that the federal government is coming — let’s remember later the announcement of the provincial budget — with announcements aimed at improving the living conditions of the population.

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are working to try to resolve the problems linked to galloping inflation, particularly observable with the exorbitant price of groceries, access to property which is more and more an inaccessible dream, all combined with the very real climate apocalypse.

The CAQ continues to send clear signals. For them, it is more important to have a third highway link — “get off me with the GES!” », a large tank battery factory to continue the cult of the solo car in North America or even a small professional hockey match in Quebec, “bread and games”. In this context, encroachment or not, I am happy that another level of government has decided to tackle the problems.

The day Quebec shows seriousness, we will revisit the question, until then: “Let me go with the encroachment!” »
