The Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma revealed the winners of the 2024 edition during a ceremony held on Thursday. Pascal Plante, for his film The red roomswon the Luc-Perreault prize, presented by the Quebec Association of Cinema Critics, which rewards the best Quebec film of the year.
This third feature film by the director relates the meeting of two young women obsessed with a serial killer. Chloé Leriche, with Atikamekw suns, wins the Gilles-Carle Prize for best first or second feature-length fiction film.
The documentary Eviction, by Mathilde Capone, receives the Pierre-et-Yolande-Perrault prize, for the best first or second feature-length documentary (with a special mention for November, by Iphigénie Marcoux-Fortier and Karine Van Ameringen).
Rewarding the best eco-responsible production, the On tourne vert prize was awarded to Métafilms for Simple like Sylvain, by Monia Chokri. The Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma continues until Saturday.
