It is this week that “Les Filles de Caleb”, one of the most popular drama series in the history of Quebec television, arrives on Netflix and ICI TOU.TV EXTRA.
Starting Wednesday, subscribers to these two platforms will be able to dive back into the television adaptation of Arlette Cousture’s novel and thus reconnect with the courageous Émilie Bordeleau (Marina Orsini), whose destiny is marked by an idyll with Ovila Pronovost (Roy Dupuis).
Through their stormy relationship, Emilie’s passion and choices, the portrait of a society marked by the upheavals of the early 20th century is emerging.
More than 30 years after their initial broadcasts, the 20 episodes of this cult series also starring Vincent Bolduc, Germain Houde, Véronique Le Flaguais and Johanne Marie Tremblay will be available on demand.
Adapted by Fernand Dansereau and director Jean Beaudin, “Les Filles de Caleb” reached record viewing when its 16th episode aired on January 31, 1991, watched by 3,664,000 people. It took four years for “La petite vie” to beat this record.
Produced by Cité Amérique, the series “Les Filles de Caleb” is coming to Netflix and ICI TOU.TV EXTRA this Wednesday.
