All the lights continue to be green for the France team. Two days after their great success against Austria (41-27), the Blue signed their second victory in the main tournament against South Korea (32-22), Friday December 8, in Trondheim in Norway. Less successful than against the Austrians, Olivier Krumbholz’s players got off to a bad start and were patient before taking control and managing their lead, without appearing ultra-dominant.

Thanks to Norway’s victory against Slovenia (34-21) in the last match of the day in Group II, the Blues won their ticket to the quarter-finals, along with the Norwegians. They will also face the reigning world champions on Sunday evening, before heading towards the final phase.

Facing South Korea, already out of the running for the rest of the competition, they delivered the performance they needed to win, maintain their series of victories, and place themselves in a good position for qualification for the quarter-finals. . On the Trondheim pitch, they were able to offer some great things, with fast play and rapid attacks. Carried by a very good Orlane Kador (7/7), successful offensively, they were also able to count on a solid Laura Glauser in her cage.

A difficult start

But they also showed areas for improvement, with long periods without being able to score (more than six minutes in the middle of the second half, in particular). They also had to overcome a very complicated start to the match, during which they conceded three goals before being able to respond and shake the net for the first time, after five minutes of play. Guilty of several ball losses on their first offensives, like that of captain Estelle Nze Miko yet alone against the goalkeeper (5th, 0-3), they took a little time to adjust, before getting back into the game on their first highlight.

“We played a serious match, we didn’t have a brilliant match, we would have preferred to be more precise with a little more ease, but we had the merit of tightening the game. We had to win this match . We keep moving forward, we’re ready now for maybe some elimination matches.”reacted coach Olivier Krumbholz at the microphone of BeIn Sports after the match.
