The artists HER, Jon Batiste, Finneas and Mosimann will also take part in the free festivities planned at the Champ de mars, which had already hosted a slew of stars in 2021 under the aegis of the philanthropic organization, including Elton John.
Entitled Power Our Planet : Live in Paristhe event will highlight the summit for a “new global financial pact”, organized on June 21 and 22 in the capital at the initiative of President Macron, with the aim of reforming the international financial system to face the climate challenge .
Paris had launched the idea of this summit in the fall during COP27 in Egypt with the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley – whose island is on the front line in the face of the threats of climate change -, who co-chairs the campaign ” Power our planet” from Global Citizen.
Through this campaign, the NGO hopes for “a strong presence and commitments” in Paris from the new President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, from the American Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen and from the G20 nations.
It calls for a “step change” to allow poor and developing countries to access “the financing they urgently need to accelerate their transition to clean energy, build their resilience to natural disasters and meet their needs. the most urgent.
