A new era begins in Poland, after the victory of the pro-European opposition. The partial results published Monday October 16 confirm this.

A new wind is blowing through Poland. At the head of the pro-European coalition, Donald Tusk is enjoying his victory in the legislative elections and the possible fall of the nationalist government in power: “Poland has won, democracy has won. We removed them from power. This result may turn out to be even better. But already today, we can announce it: it’s the end of this bad moment”, he said in a speech.

A populist coalition still important in Parliament

The three political parties from the center and the left still have to form a government, but those responsible have already declared their goodwill. The populist coalition, however, remains important in Parliament, with 200 seats out of 460. Among the measures announced by the victorious coalition, the liberalization of the right to abortion, and the reestablishment of good relations with the European Union.
