The first round of legislative elections takes place on June 12 and some deputies from the presidential majority have decided not to try the experiment again.
If for many candidates the desire is very strong to become deputies, some have made an important choice since they have decided not to run again. Disappointed at not having been able to carry out the actions they wanted to take, some deputies simply decided to give up. “The deputies lost their individuality at one point, so yes, I experienced it”says Frederique TuffnellAncient MP of the presidential majority. Its constituents are divided on the fact that it does not represent itself.
Like Frederique Tuffnellelected deputies from Renaissance, formerly La République en Marche, have decided not to run again. In all, ils are 34 not to stand for another mandate to The national assembly. Florence Granjusalso a member of the majority elected in 2017, knew of the the beginning that she only wanted to do one term. His experience in the Assembly did not change his mind. She declares, bitterly: “I don’t think that when you come from civil society (…) you can always agree with everything that is presented.”
