To associate the Rolling Stones with porcelain, it was daring. Against all expectations, the Coquet factory obtained the authorization of the English rock group.

In Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, in the workshops of the porcelain manufacturer Coquet, the last plates that will join the Rolling Stones boxes are made. Black and striped on the edges, they look like two drops of water on a vinyl. “We decided to make two large plates with the photo of the albums and two small plates with the center of the records of each vinyl”, proudly explains Sébastien Cich, general manager of Coquet porcelain.

Reproduce the twenty heads of Some girls and the legendary fly of sticky fingers was not easy. The pockets being square, the plates round, “the images had to be readjusted”, explains Pascal Corbier, screen printing manager, “looking for colors too but it’s a very rewarding job”.

A technically ambitious project but not only. The porcelain manufacturer also had to be convincing to win the authorization to exploit the image of the most famous of rock groups. “It’s very difficult. It took a very long time working in partnership with Universal to obtain the rights, to offer the product and to be able to validate it with the managers of the Rolling Stones”, says Sébastien Cich.

The Coquet company decided to manufacture 1962 boxes, in reference to the year of birth of the group. They will be sold on October 8 on the site of the porcelain manufacturer at a price of 750 euros. Five copies will be offered to the Rolling Stones for their anniversary.
