Legault reminds Quebecers to be cautious about viruses during the holidays

During a visit to the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center in Montreal on Thursday morning, Prime Minister François Legault reminded Quebecers to be vigilant in the face of the various respiratory viruses circulating.

The health network is “already very overloaded,” he insisted, in a short statement to media representatives.

“If you go inside and there are a lot of people, you have to wear your mask,” said the Prime Minister. When we have symptoms, of course, we test ourselves, but let’s not take a chance, it’s boring, but when we have symptoms that resemble colds, we stay at home.

He recalled that vulnerable people, children and the elderly are particularly affected by the viruses in circulation. Holiday gatherings could add additional pressure on hospitals, but students will return to class on schedule, he said when asked by a reporter.

“There are no scenarios for delaying school entry,” said François Legault. I met Christian Dubé, who is doing everything possible with the resources we have to get through this period, which is always difficult”.

Further details will follow.
