A two-year-old girl who stood on the edge of an open window on the second floor of a building in France was reportedly urgently rescued by concerned neighbors, who broke down the door to the apartment while her mother ran errands .
“We were about to close the store, it was around 5:45 p.m. […] and we noticed when we looked up that the little one was sitting on the windowsill, ”recounted Jonathan Rodriguez, who works just opposite, to France Bleu Gard Lozère on Monday.
Seeing the precariousness of the two-year-old girl, sitting on the sill of a window on the second floor of a building in Beaucaire, in the south of France, the man and his spouse would have immediately grabbed a fabric, preparing cushion the fall if necessary, he said.
Meanwhile, other neighbors would have rushed to get tools to break down the door. When they opened the door, they would have discovered that the two young children were left to their own devices.
“The firefighters and the police asked us a few questions, and the mother must have arrived about 15 minutes after the events, after the little ones had been brought to safety,” he continued.
It is unclear whether charges will be brought against the mother.
