Véronique Morel created Dom’sitting. She connects retired volunteer caretakers with individuals who want to be away from home with peace of mind.

The principle is simple: to allow owners to leave with peace of mind, and to allow senior volunteers to benefit from free accommodation! So, no more anxiety. The Dom’Sitting concept is an alternative solution that allows you to have your dog, cat, chickens, horses, donkeys, goats looked after, within your own home. More concretely, the agency puts holiday owners in touch with carefully selected seniors within the network. The aim is for members to create real links between them.

The owners fill out a file that allows us to clearly identify the needs and find the caretakers who best match the owners’ request. The agency then proposes the ideal retired candidate accordingly. Owners and hosts only have to organize the arrival at the home. Ideally, the caretakers will arrive the day before the departure on vacation, in order to benefit from a briefing by the owners.

All you have to do is apply by submitting an application form. It includes a questionnaire to ensure that the animals and the house will be in good hands, and several administrative documents attesting to the integrity of the keepers. In addition, to benefit from the service, volunteer keepers will have to pay an annual membership fee of 15 euros per person, which is carried over free of charge to the following year, if they have not left during the year.

The mission is to take care of the home entrusted to you, to take care of the animals, to water the plants, to clean the swimming pool if necessary, or to collect the mail during the absence of the owners. If the offer and the dates are suitable, all that remains is to organize the arrival.

For a week of absence, owners will have to pay the symbolic sum of 165 euros. A decreasing rate depending on the duration:
• 2 weeks: 270 euros
• 3 weeks: 335 euros
• 4 weeks in a month: 379 euros
• Long term up to 3 months: 310 euros per month, beyond 3 months: 280 euros per month
