LEADERSHIP SHIFTS: Newly Appointed CEOs at Scancell, Nanoco, and LPA; Coral’s CEO Exits

Director and Management Changes in London-Listed Companies

This week saw several announcements regarding significant leadership transitions within various London-listed companies:

Scancell Holdings PLC – This Oxford-based company, known for its cancer immunotherapy research, has appointed Phil L’Huillier as its new Managing Director, starting November 18. He takes over from Lindy Durrant, who will continue to serve as Scientific Director and Board Member. L’Huillier previously held the position of CEO and Managing Director at CatalYm GmbH in Munich, Germany.

Nanoco Group PLC – A manufacturer specializing in cadmium-free quantum dots and other nanomaterials located in Runcorn, England, welcomes Dmitry Shashkov as its new CEO, effective immediately. He replaces Brian Tenner, who announced his departure in July. Shashkov brings over 20 years of experience in leadership roles within the electronics and biomedical sectors.

LPA Group PLC – This Saffron Walden-based engineering firm, which focuses on electronic and electromechanical components, has appointed Philo Daniel-Tran as the new CEO and Executive Director, effective in January. Daniel-Tran, formerly the Global Director of Aviation and Urban Safety at Smiths Detection, replaces Paul Curtis, who departed at the end of July.

Coral Products PLC – Based in Manchester, this company specializes in bespoke plastic manufacturing. CEO Lance Burn will resign next Thursday by mutual agreement, as the company undertakes cost reductions amidst challenging trading conditions. Ian Hillman, the Managing Director of the Flexibles division, will assume the role of Group Operations Director, overseeing daily operations. Coral has cited market corrections and ongoing challenges as reasons for the leadership change.

Enwell Energy PLC – In the oil and gas exploration sector in Ukraine, Interim CEO Oleksiy Zayets has joined the board representing the majority shareholder, Smart Energy (CY) Ltd. Zayets has been with Enwell since 2018 and previously held the position of CFO for its Ukrainian operations, now serving as the acting CEO of the group.

Avation PLC – This London-based commercial passenger aircraft leasing company has appointed Gerry Butler as its new head of aircraft trading and capital markets. With more than 20 years of experience in aircraft finance at firms such as China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Ltd. and Apollo Global Management, Butler brings significant expertise to the role.

Biome Technologies PLC – The Southampton-based bioplastics and radio frequency technology firm has named Brian Geary as a non-executive director, effective immediately. Geary, an electrical engineer, has been with Biome as a shareholder since 2016 and currently holds a 27.7% stake.

Synergia Energy Ltd – This company focuses on gas production, carbon capture, and sequestration in India and the UK. Colin Judd will step down as CFO on November 4, with Andrew Darbyshire, previously a board member of Getech Group PLC, set to take his place.
