Léa Clermont-Dion cancels all her professional commitments following an emergency operation

Emergency operated for a large ovarian cyst and ovarian torsion last week, Léa Clermont-Dion must cancel all her professional commitments for the next few weeks to take care of her health.

Léa Clermont-Dion is once again using her social media to apologize to the people she has to give up on professionally.

“Considering an urgent operation that I received, I had to cancel all my commitments for the next few weeks, she wrote on Facebook. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, especially for the conferences that I will not be able to give. I will also have to slow down my professional activities.

Hospitalized and then operated on at Charles-Le Moyne Hospital when a large cyst and ovarian torsion risked causing ovarian necrosis, she says she has since received many professional requests to which she is saddened not to be able to respond positively.

The presenter and documentary filmmaker takes this opportunity to thank “the fabulous emergency team at Charles-Le Moyne Hospital, who took care with such great delicacy of [son] damaged body.

Post-surgery rest

In an ephemeral publication published on Friday (now defunct), she confessed to having underestimated the post-surgery period. She also said that she had received a lot of testimonials from women who had not been taken seriously when they confided in them about their stomach aches.

“With all my heart with those who are not lucky enough to find an end to these pains,” she wrote.

Funny fact, Léa Clermont-Dion said she was taken care of by “a badass anesthesiologist and the D^D Alexander” which were part of season 1 of the documentary series On call 24-7.

“On the hospital table, naked under the blue blanket, vulnerable, little hat on my head, I had a FAN + GIRL CRUSH moment,” she laughed.

Last Thursday, the young mother recounted her health misadventures, for preventive purposes, in a long Instagram post. The risk of necrosis involved meant the death of the ovary, possibly leading to fertility problems “and other hormonal inconveniences”.

“Moral of the story, take girls with stomachaches seriously. It is essential to open the dialogue and raise awareness of women’s health problems such as ovarian cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis,” she wrote at the time, stressing the importance of breaking taboos in order to enable women to benefit from adequate care and preserve their health.
