“Le petit Nicolas” at the cinema, a film that mixes the life of the authors and stories of the little boy

Initially, it was about realizing a documentary film mixing the archive videos of Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny with the comic stories of Petit Nicolas. Finally the project evolved and the desire to realize the whole film in animation was essential.

Compared to the universe of the authors, this seemed coherent and also made it possible to adapt, for the first time, Le Petit Nicolas in animated film.

Le Petit Nicolas is this laughing and mischievous boy who between camaraderie, arguments, fights, games, nonsense, and punishments galore, lives a childhood filled with joy and learning. As the story progresses, the boy slips in the workshop of its creatorsand challenges them with humor. Sempé and Goscinny will tell him about their meeting, their friendship, but also their journeys, their secrets and their childhood.
