Mobility and environment
“For once and for all, we are going to remove the orange cones,” promises Balarama Holness, head of Mouvement Montreal.
“It is clear that we must remove them, but I hope that we will fill the hole before,” replied Denis Coderre, conductor of Ensemble Montreal.
“We are not anti-car, but we must ensure that when we make cycle paths, we think of cohabitation with cars,” says Denis Coderre about cycle paths.
“For you, a cycle path was painting on the ground,” says Valérie Plante, head of Projet Montréal.
“Mr. Coderre does not tell us anything except that he is for the REM de l’Est project, ”argues Valérie Plante.
The REM must be done in cohesion with the cycle paths and the buses ”, maintains Balarama Holness.
“Every street must have trees,” says Denis Coderre.
“You cut 1000 trees in Parc Jean-Drapeau,” says Valérie Plante to Denis Coderre.
“Your policies are exacerbating environmental problems,” said Holness, addressing the other two parties.
“Montreal is the capital of blue gold,” says Denis Coderre, recalling that during his mandate, his party set up 1000 charging stations.
“Public transit must be electric,” believes Valérie Plante.
