Seven Montreal Alouettes players have been selected to the Eastern Association’s all-star team of the Canadian Football League.
Thus, running back William Stanback, receiver Eugene Lewis and guard Kristian Matte were selected for a second consecutive year, while receiver Jake Wieneke and tackle Landon Rice saw their performances recognized for the first time.
In defense, defensive end David Ménard and halfback Monshadrik Hunter both got their first caps.
Stanback topped the CFL with 1,176 rushing yards in 2021, over 300 yards behind his closest pursuer.
Lewis was third on the Ambrosie Circuit with 964 passing yards and second with nine touchdowns.
It was Wieneke who reigned at the top of the CFL with 11 passing touchdowns, in addition to finishing fifth with 898 yards.
Ménard, for his part, finished the season fourth in the league with eight sacks, while Hunter finished first with the Alouettes with 10 knockdowns, second in the CFL.
