To face the terrorist threat during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, law enforcement is carrying out full-scale exercises.
Since 2017, according to Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, 50 planned attacks have been foiled. Ahead of the Olympic Games being held in France, law enforcement is training to combat the terrorist threat. The decor and the scene are unmistakable: screams of terror, men armed with knives, victims on the ground… On the Olympic site, the exercise is intended to be as realistic as possible.
The nearest police officers arrive and neutralize a fake terrorist then pat him down to check that he does not have an explosive belt. In the press room this time, the army and the RAID take action to neutralize an attacker. Their role is to secure the scene and evacuate the pseudo-victims. The life-size reconstruction takes place where the canoeing and rowing events will be held. The goal is to be ready on D-day.
