Laval | The pileup that occurred on Friday left three people dead

(Laval) The serious road accident that occurred Friday afternoon at the corner of Route 335 and Rue Saint-Saëns, in Laval, left three dead, police confirmed Saturday.

Around 2 p.m. Friday, a truck traveling southbound on Route 335 collided head-on with a vehicle traveling northbound.

“The two vehicles caught fire. This caused another accident involving two other vehicles,” said Stéphanie Beshara, spokesperson for the Laval Police Department (SPL).

On Saturday, the SPL confirmed the deaths of three people, but without giving further details on the identification of the victims.

Officer Erika Landry said the three people who were injured, a 28-year-old pregnant woman, a 35-year-old man and a seven-year-old child, are now out of danger.

The investigation is continuing and the circumstances of the accident are still unclear.

The area was reopened to traffic on Saturday morning, while the analysis of the scene was concluded around 4:30 a.m.
