(Laval) The lifeless body of an elderly man in his early twenties was found Tuesday at a Laval residence where an attempted home robbery previously allegedly took place.
Posted at 7:40 a.m.
At the start of the day, the Laval Police Service (SPL) treated this case as a suspicious death. No arrests had yet been announced.
According to the spokeswoman for the SPL, agent Erika Landry, a call to the 911 emergency telephone center was made around 1:55 a.m. by a couple who had just taken refuge with a family member. The two people said they had just suffered an attempted robbery at their residence located on Place du Cormoran, in the Sainte-Rose district.
It was while reporting to this location shortly after that Laval police officers found the man dead.
A few hours later, Constable Landry was not yet able to say whether the body showed signs of violence.
SPL investigators and forensic identification technicians began their work to try to find out what happened. The two people who called 911 will be questioned during the day.
A mobile police command post should be stationed during the day on Tuesday to support investigative work and meet possible witnesses.
