Laval Rocket | Lias Andersson suspended one match for obstructive gesture

Laval Rocket forward Lias Andersson was suspended for one game by the American Hockey League on Monday.

This sanction was awarded to him due to an obstructive gesture that occurred at 13:44 of the third period of a duel against the Thunderbirds, Saturday in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The 25-year-old Swede hard tackled defender Dylan Coghlan when the latter was not in possession of the puck. He received a five-minute major penalty and was ejected from the game.

Earlier in the match, Andersson had scored his 15e net of the countryside. The Thunderbirds still won 7-3 despite the 56 shots taken by the Montreal Canadiens’ farm club.

The Rocket are four points out of a playoff spot in the North Division. However, he played two more games than the fifth-ranked Toronto Marlies.

Jean-François Houle’s squad will face the Syracuse Crunch on Wednesday at Place Bell.
