(Laval) A man was stabbed to death Monday night in a residential area of the Laval-des-Rapides district, in Laval.
A 33-year-old man was arrested shortly after by police in connection with the incident. The suspect was placed in pre-trial detention pending questioning later in the morning by investigators from the Laval Police Service (SPL).
A call was sent just before 3:30 a.m. to the 911 emergency telephone center to report that a 66-year-old man had been stabbed in front of a residence located on Corbin Street.
When SPL police officers arrived on the scene, resuscitation maneuvers were carried out and transport to a hospital center by ambulance was carried out shortly after.
The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The SPL reported that the suspect and the victim knew each other, but the exact nature of their relationship was not specified.
Forensic identification technicians began analyzing the scene and an SPL command gate was stationed in the neighborhood.
