A man in his 40s hit his head while diving into his Laval pool on Sunday night and could not be saved.

The accident occurred on rue Savard, a small residential street lined with single-storey houses in northern Laval.
At the end of the day, around 6 p.m., a man in his forties dove into his swimming pool and hit his head on the bottom, explains Lieutenant Alain Ouellet of the Laval Police Department.
The man then allegedly went into cardiac arrest. The emergency services arrived on the spot in a few minutes carried out resuscitation maneuvers “for a long time”, specifies Lieutenant Ouellet, but without success. The man died.
His family was at the scene at the time of the accident.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
