Laval: failed theft, police chase and vehicle upside down

Two teenagers and a young adult were arrested early Wednesday morning in Laval after a police chase in which the suspects’ vehicle ended upside down in a residential driveway.

The incredible story began around 3:30 a.m., when patrol officers saw a Honda Civic car approach a Toyota Highlander SUV – one of the most stolen vehicles in the country – in the parking lot of the Hilton hotel located along Highway 15.

“The police observed that maneuvers were underway to steal the vehicle,” said agent Erika Landry, spokesperson for the Laval police.

The patrollers then took action to catch the criminals. The latter, however, fled with a bang, triggering a police chase at the same time.

The fugitives successively took the service road of Highway 15, Boulevard Curé-Labelle, Boulevard Gabriel and finally Boulevard Dagenais, before the driver lost control of his car.

It rolled over and mowed down a tree and a road sign before ending its race with all four wheels in the air, in the entrance to the courtyard of a residence on rue Firmin, in the Fabreville district. .

Despite the violence of the impact, the three occupants of the car – an 18-year-old young man and two 17-year-old teenagers – managed to flee.

Two of them were quickly found, then handcuffed, while the third was able to be pinned a little later in the night with the help of a dog handler.
