Laval | Blue-collar workers on strike in arenas in mid-December

(Montreal) After walking out for 24 hours, Laval’s blue-collar workers will walk out for three days in the city’s arenas.

The 850 blue-collar workers, members of a local section of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), affiliated with the FTQ, held a 24-hour walkout on November 7.

This time, for their walkout on December 15, 16 and 17, they decided to only target the city’s arenas. Ten infrastructures will be affected by the walkout and around fifteen blue-collar workers, the union said on Tuesday.

CUPE says that the work climate is the main point in dispute. The collective agreement expired in December 2021.
