A restaurant in Laval was the target of an arson attack overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in the Chomedey district of Laval. This is the third time in a few months that the Nuits de Beyrouth restaurant has been targeted by a Molotov cocktail.
The Laval Police Service (SPL) was called to the scene shortly before midnight. The window of the establishment on boulevard Curé-Labelle was shattered.
Firefighters managed to quickly control the start of the fire, said police spokeswoman Geneviève Major.
The scene was protected by a security perimeter pending the arrival of investigators.
No one was injured in this fire and the restaurant was closed at the time.
In October 2022, five men were arrested in connection with a wave of threats targeting restaurant owners in Laval and the northern suburbs of Montreal. The Nuits de Beyrouth restaurant was among the businesses targeted and had been set on fire shortly before the arrests.
The following month, a second suspicious fire broke out in the establishment.
