A minor pedestrian was fatally struck Monday evening by a truck assigned to snow removal operations, in the parking lot of Galeries Laval.
The police were called around 9:20 p.m. for an accident that occurred in the parking lot of the shopping center located on boulevard Le Corbusier, near boulevard Saint-Martin Ouest.
The driver of the truck was on a snow removal mission when he hit the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 49-year-old driver, who was not injured, was treated for nervous shock, said Érika Landry, spokesperson for the Service de police de Laval (SPL).
The scene was protected by a security perimeter for the accident investigation investigators who were to meet the driver of the truck and any witnesses.
According to Constable Landry, there are no criminal elements involved in this accident which claimed the life of a young pedestrian.
