Laurentides | Successful rescue operation after plane crash

The worst was avoided in Ferme-Neuve, in the Laurentides region, on Sunday.

A search and rescue operation led by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has located the four victims of a plane crash, who escaped with only minor injuries.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. in the Montagne du Diable area. About two hours later, the aircraft and its occupants were found by SQ all-terrain vehicle (ATV) patrollers, in collaboration with the local fire department.

Once evacuated from the plane, the pilot and the three passengers were transported to a hospital. The four people suffered “non-life-threatening injuries,” said SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie.

“A mechanical failure could be the cause of this event,” she stressed. “An investigation is underway. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified.”
