According to information from the SQ, it is a police intervention in connection with dangerous driving.

A Blainville police officer allegedly tried to intercept a vehicle to check the license plates. The police officer may have mentioned that the vehicle was reported stolen to the authorities.

It was then that the vehicle allegedly fled and hit a concrete block at full speed. Around 6 p.m., the emergency services were called to the intersection of boulevard Industriel and rue Rolland-Brière.

By late Sunday evening, the SQ was unable to confirm how many people were in the vehicle.

Those involved in the accident reportedly suffered significant injuries.

The mandate of the SQ is to shed light on the causes and circumstances of this event while the BEI will have the task of investigating the actions of the police.

The SQ major crimes team is assigned to the case, said SQ spokesman Nicolas Scholtus.
