The patrol officers of the MRC Antoine-Labelle and the emergency services were called to intervene around 11:15 a.m. for the accident that occurred on the Les Sables reservoir. The nautical patrol officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were asked for reinforcements to rescue the pilot, who was alone on board the device, according to agent Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the SQ.

The pilot was transported to the hospital for serious injuries, but his condition had stabilized by early afternoon, said agent Tremblay.

An investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been opened in collaboration with the SQ, he added.
