Laurentians | One seriously injured in a collision in Sainte-Sophie

(Sainte-Sophie) A motorist is fighting for his life after a face-to-face with another vehicle on Friday in Sainte-Sophie, in the Laurentians.


The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 158. One of the vehicles traveling westbound would have deviated from its lane and collided with the one traveling in the opposite direction, according to the first information from the Sûreté du Québec. Quebec (SQ).

The driver of the vehicle that allegedly veered from its lane suffered serious life-threatening injuries. The 42-year-old man was taken to a hospital.

The second motorist, also in his forties, suffered minor injuries, but there was no fear for his life, the SQ said.

Route 158 was closed to traffic in order to proceed with the analysis of the scene.
