Laurentians | One dead in three-vehicle crash

(Mont-Laurier) A collision involving three vehicles including a motorcycle was fatal for the motorcyclist, Sunday evening, in Mont-Laurier, in the Laurentians.


Around 4:45 p.m., the emergency services were called to go to Route 117, also called Boulevard Des Ruisseaux, for a collision between three vehicles. A tank truck, a van and a motorcycle were involved in the accident.

“A first impact would have occurred between the motorcycle and the tanker. There would then have been a second impact with the van, ”said Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The motorcyclist, a 55-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two drivers were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigator and an SQ patrol officer trained in investigation and collision were dispatched to the scene to establish the causes and circumstances surrounding this event.

Route 117 is currently closed to traffic.
