Laurentians | Four seriously injured in collision on Highway 50

(Grenville-Sur-La-Rouge) Four people are seriously injured after a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 50 near Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, in the Laurentians.


Sûreté du Québec police officers intervened on Highway 50 around 5:15 p.m. on Monday.

For unknown reasons, a car traveling eastbound deviated from its lane and hit a vehicle traveling westbound.

The four occupants of the hit car suffered serious injuries and their lives are feared. They were transported to a hospital. The two occupants of the car that allegedly veered out of its lane suffered serious injuries, but their lives are not feared.

An accident scene reconstruction expert from the Sûreté du Québec was requested to the scene and this section of Highway 50 was closed to traffic, in both directions, between Chemin Avoca and Montée Fassett, said Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the SQ.
