Laurentians | BEI investigates shooting involving police officers

(Montreal) The Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) announced Tuesday evening that it had launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting involving police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in the Laurentians.

According to the preliminary version of the events reported to the BEI by the police, officers were called to intervene, around 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, for an argument between neighbors on the Montée des Quatre-Lacs, in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard. .

When the patrol officers arrived on site, a man was said to be in possession of a long weapon and according to the press release sent by the BEI, “shots were fired”.

Also according to information from the BEI, a 44-year-old man was hit by at least one projectile. He was taken to hospital, where he is believed to be in stable condition.

A team of eight investigators was assigned to this case. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal will support the investigators.
