A sexagenarian from Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, in the Laurentians, was arrested by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Thursday for several sex crimes, including the production of child pornography. Police believe he may have had other victims, including in Ontario.
Bruce Patterson, 64, was arrested Thursday by investigators specializing in sexual exploitation of children on the internet of the SQ. He appeared Friday at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse.
He faces charges of producing child pornography, obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person [mineure] and incitement to sexual contact, according to a press release released Friday by the SQ.
A search was also carried out in the accused’s house. Computer equipment was seized and will be analyzed.
“We think he could have caused other victims, both in Quebec and in Ontario,” said Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the SQ.
The municipality of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge is on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. All you have to do is cross the river to find yourself in Ontario.
