Laurentian appoints three new members to its board of directors

(Montreal) The Laurentian Bank announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors, with Johanne Brunet, Paul Stinis and Jamey Hubbs serving on the board since Wednesday.

These new appointments bring the total number of members to 13, including the president and CEO of the Montreal institution, Éric Provost.

Johanne Brunet is a full professor in the marketing department at HEC Montréal. She sits on the boards of several other companies, including that of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), which she chairs.

For his part, Paul Stinis is currently vice-president of the board of directors of Hydro-Québec. Holder of a bachelor’s degree from McGill University and a master’s degree in business administration from Concordia University, he was senior vice-president and treasurer at Bell Canada Enterprises from 2009 to 2018.

Jamey Hubbs, meanwhile, is a former executive in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

These new appointments to the board of directors come approximately four months after the appointment of Mr. Provost as president and CEO of the Laurentian Bank, who had been called upon to replace Rania Llewellyn.

Mme Llewellyn and then-chairman Michael Mueller left their positions in early October following a computer outage that lasted several days.
