Laurent Luyat brings back a memorable memory to Thomas Sotto and make him lose his cool!

The 2023 edition of Roland-Garros starts from this Monday, May 22, 2023. For the occasion Laurent Luyat was the guest of “Télématin” on France 2. A passage on the air during which a sports journalist returned to his two decades on the small screen to dissect this French tournament.

Years during which Laurent Luyat experienced everything, including bad weather. “The rain, the cold, the storm… (…) One day the computer on the table flew away and it had to be furnished. It happened to me to furnish two three hours four hours. One day I said to the headset ‘but what are we doing’ and they said to me ‘get out of it'”, he said in particular.

A common memorable memory

On the set of “Télématin”, the tennis buff also recounted his fondest memory at Roland Garros: “It will please Thomas Sotto. This is when Roger Federer won Roland Garros in 2009 “, he said after a few minutes of hesitation.

“2009… Oh fuck…”, Thomas Sotto then reacted by holding his head… And for good reason, if the co-host reacted this way, it is because he is an absolute fan of Roger Federer. An admiration which has also pushed Julia Vignali’s sidekick to meet the tennis player several times and even to devote a book to him.

A work-investigation called “An adventure named Federer” released in 2018 in which the journalist paints a very personal portrait of the tennis champion.
