The public service relied on Léa Salamé and Laurent Guimier to animate the debate broadcast this Thursday March 17 on France 2, “Elysée 2022: facing France Télévisions”. An honor for the journalist who, three years earlier, was the victim of a serious accident.
This Thursday, March 17, France 2 is broadcasting a new issue ofElysée 2022: against France Télévisions. Léa Salamé, normally accompanied by Thomas Sotto – forced to step back because of his relationship with Mayada Boulos – in political broadcasts, will once again be alongside journalist Laurent Guimier. The duo will support each other to animate the debate with several candidates for the presidential election: Anne Hidalgo, Eric Zemmour and Nicolas Dupont-Aignan. This role, Laurent Guimier has almost never been able to ensure it. The one who was a columnist for Cyril Hanouna on Europe 1 before becoming its vice-president and general manager saw his life pass before his eyes in April 2019. At the time, he attended the final of the Coupe de France opposing Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Rennais. This sporting and joyful meeting unfortunately turned into a nightmare.
Victim of a heavy fall, Laurent Guimier was seriously injured. The emergency services then intervened to take him to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Everything ended well, Laurent Guimier was able to return home and fully recovered from this event which he had kept silent at the time. But in April 2020, in the midst of a health crisis, the pair of Léa Salamé had revealed what had happened to him by paying tribute to the caregivers through a message posted on Twitter.
To salute their work and their courage, Laurent Guimier had mentioned his accident: “Just a year ago, victim of a serious accident, I was rescued during the night by the admirable staff of the emergency room of Saint-Denis. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of these caregivers, not a day without thanking the public hospital with all my heart.“The hospital sector could not have dreamed of a better spokesperson to defend its cause against the candidates for the presidential election on April 10 and 24. Saving lives is priceless.
