Climate diplomat Laurence Tubiana, whose name had been proposed by the Socialist Party to be Prime Minister of the New Popular Front, takes “act” Monday July 22nd “oppositions” within the left and is giving up running for the post, she announced on X. Her name was validated by the environmentalists and the communists, but rejected by the Insoumis, who found her too moderate.
“I see that my name has met with opposition within the NFP. All this no longer seems to me to lead to the appeasement that we so badly need,” she wrote. “I take note of it”she adds, saying she is returning “to the fights that have always been the [siens], the social emergency and the climate emergency”.
Judging that the results of the legislative elections of July 7 had raised hopes which “obliged”the architect of the Paris climate agreement explains that she had “responded favorably to the call of several components” of the NFP, saying “ready to defend their ideas and proposals as far as possible.”
