Quebec actress Laurence Lebœuf will host the Cinematographic Arts Gala for the Screen Awards on April 8.

This ceremony is part of the Canadian Screen Awards, which celebrate the creativity and talent of artists and artisans working in film, television and digital media in Canada.
The Cinematic Arts awards will recognize finalists in filmmaking categories, including “Best Costume Design”, “Best Adaptation”, “Best Visual Effects”, “Best Short Fiction”. Drunken Birds, Maria Chapdelaine, Brain Freeze and The time grabber are among the 29 Quebec productions competing in 21 categories.
Laurence Leboeuf is herself nominated for the Canadian Screen Awards in the category “Best Actress in a Leading Role, Drama Series” for her performance in the series Transplant.
The Cinematic Arts Awards are presented by Telefilm Canada with the support of Cineplex.
