The first six books resulting from the collaboration between the Somme tout editions and The duty were the subject of the same launch, Thursday evening, in Montreal. The event therefore made it possible to highlight the recent publication of each of the books, but also the new publishing house as a whole, which aims to enhance the work of journalists and collaborators of the To have to through the publication of literary works.
“The creation of the Somme Tout-The duty will allow us to make known the richness and diversity of the contents of the To have to to a wider public and deepen the debates in society. Thanks to the expertise of Somme Tout and the patient support of the To have toour journalists and collaborators will have access to new perspectives for professional development,” said Brian Myles, director of Le Devoir, who was at the National Archives building of the Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec (BAnQ), in Montreal, for the ‘event.
This collaboration was first announced in the pages of To have to in November 2021. Mr. Myles then said that “extensive reports, collections of chronicles, and even an entirely original work, an essay, could be published there, why not? “. About ten books should be published by the publishing house each year.
The books that were launched on Thursday evening are: What’s left of #MeToo? by Améli Pineda, Risk appetite by André Bouthillier, Inflation by Gerard Bérubé, The end of the road by Monique Durand, The Duty of Philosophy (collective work) and The State of Quebec 2023a collective work under the direction of Josselyn Guillarmou and Sandra Larochelle resulting from a collaboration with the Institut du Nouveau Monde.
