In addition, the Interprofessional Health Federation of Quebec (FIQ), which represents 76,000 nurses, nursing assistants and respiratory therapists, demands a formal apology from the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé.

She reproaches him for his “immobism” and his “recklessness in offering any form of compensation” to the members of the FIQ.

The Canadian Press revealed on Wednesday that the members of the FIQ would receive late retroactive payments due to them under the new collective agreement that was concluded last June.

These are premiums and lump sums that have been agreed between the parties and must be paid retroactively, on dates predetermined in the agreement.

Not only will these amounts be paid late, but it is not known when exactly they will be paid.

On Thursday, the ministry confirmed these late payments affecting health workers. He attributed them to a higher workload, both in healthcare facilities and in the private companies that provide payroll software.

He also confirmed that all the CISSSs and CIUSSSs are affected by these delays.

It was the Quebec Service Employees Union (SQEES), affiliated with the FTQ, which raised the flag on October 27, after being notified by some employers of these late payments.
