On the occasion of the round of 16 of CAN 2022, Côte d’Ivoire faces, Wednesday January 26 at 5 p.m., EEgypt in Douala (Cameroon). The Elephants, who finished first in their group with two wins and a draw, remain on a convincing success (3-1) against Algeria. The Ivorians can count on experienced players playing in the European championships, like captain Serge Aurier, a former PSG player and currently at Villarreal.
For their part, the Egyptians made a lackluster start to the competition. Despite two narrow victories (1-0) against Guinea-Bissau and Sudan, Mohamed Salah’s teammates lost to Nigeria (1-0). Apart from the Liverpool star, the Pharaohs have an experienced squad with players like Mohamed Elneny or Mahmoud Hassan (known as Trézéguet).
