Lola’s funeral is celebrated this Monday, October 24, at the Collegiate of Lillesin the Pas-de-Calais, where the teenager’s mother is from. Hundreds of people are expected on site to pay their last respects to the schoolgirl.
Preparations are taking place Lilles (Pas-de-Calais)Monday, October 24, village where Lola’s mother is from. The parents of the little girl specified that at this ceremony will be welcomed all those who wish to pay homage to her. “If it does them good, we will support them morally”says a woman. Hundreds of people are expected. They will be able to follow the ceremony with sound from the church square.
“I would like to lay flowers, meditate for five minutes and then leave the family in all its privacy”says another resident. Lola’s parents called for respect and dignity, away from political and media turmoil. This is also the wish of the Bishop of Arras (Pas-de-Calais)who hopes that the “people will be very sober, very discreet”. Mass will be followed by burial in the village cemetery, in the strictest privacy.
